 THEATRE TEAM CARRYING OUT FREE SURGERIES (MYOMECTOMY PROCEDURE) @PROJECT SAVE LIVES IN CHIKUN

Carelife Character Foundation flagged off her 1millionhealth mandate@2020 with “PROJECT SAVE LIVES IN CHIKUN”, carried out at General Hospital Sabon Tasha, Kaduna; Kaduna State. Teamcarelife in collaboration with other partners (Kaduna State Ministry of Health, National Blood Transfusion Services, National Youth Service Corp) also enjoyed the sponsorship of some key members of Chikun community (the political class representing Chikun/Kajuru in the Federal House of Representatives, Kaduna State House of Assembly), traditional leaders and others as this project has brought smiles to poor people in the communities who could not cater for their health needs due to their financial constraints.

After a careful selection process of beneficiaries (strictly for poor people of Chikun Local Government area, who could not afford the cost of these treatment and surgeries with bias to adolescent and young persons – AYPs, and old persons), beneficiaries for different categories of surgical and medical care were booked to be seen by a team of professionals.

SURGICAL OUTREACH:

 TEAM OF SURGEONS CARRYING OUT DIFFERENT PROCEDURES IN THE THEATRE

                                                          

Different major and minor surgical procedures were carried out by our team of professionals.

A total of 52 patients had a successful surgery carried out on them, ranging from Lumpectomy, Mastectomy, Appendectomy, Hydrocelectomy, Lipoma Excision, Herniorraphy, Myomectomy, etc.

MEDICAL OUTREACH:

Different medical issues were consulted and treated. These procedures ranged from vital signs checks by Nurses, consultation by Medical Doctors, laboratory tests which involved different comprehensive diagnosis, pharmacy unit also dispensed different categories of drugs depending on the provisional diagnosis and comprehensive laboratory based findings

Other activities that took place included blood donation carried out by hematologists of the National Blood Transfusion Services, gene -xpert sample collection and analysis.

These activities were carried out after a formal flagging off of “TEAMCARELIFEFOR1MILLIONHEALTH@2020” project. The opening ceremony of this campaign took place at the hospital premises – General Hospital, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna State, on the 17th of January, 2020; and had in attendant all the stakeholders of carelife character foundation.

 A total of four hundred and one (401) were registered and officially attended to for the medical  and surgical outreach.

Carelife Character Foundation is fulfilling a mandate to save 1million lives as part of her activities to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) three (3) of” good health and well -being”. She seeks to do more to add value to the health of poor persons and those within hard to reach areas.
